Twelve Days of Community. Day Two: Katdish

As I pondered whom to feature next for Twelve Days of Community, it struck me as meet, right, and salutary that I bookend my Ten Dollar Challenge story on one side with Day One’s Billy Coffey and on the other with his partner in . . . well, not crime necessarily, but just about everything else. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the one, the only, the adorably incorrigible Katdish.

If you’re like me, sometimes in your cyber-wanderings you encounter a kindred soul, and you know without any doubt that, if this person lived in your town, you’d be friends. She makes you feel welcome. Makes you laugh. Makes you want to be the best and most fun version of you. Not long after you meet her, you find yourself quoting her. Saying things like, “Sorry/You’re Welcome” or “That’s What She Said.” And the more you get to know her, the more you realize a lot of other people feel the same way you do about her. Because the warmth, the generosity, the sincere compliments and cheer-you-on-ishness aren’t fabricated to create a likable, virtual persona. They’re real.
In fact, if I had to sum up Katdish with one word, it would be “real.” And, in today’s world, where just about everyone from politicians to entertainers to reporters seems to have a hidden agenda, it’s refreshing to meet someone who enjoys life with a frank, unbridled enthusiasm that almost always shifts the spotlight away from herself and onto her beloveds and her God. Indeed, I’ve met a whole community of delightful folks through her eagerness to promote others. And since The Twelve Days of Community is all about promoting others, it’s my pleasure to turn the spotlight back on her. Katdish is a fun, artistic, talented mess. If she’s not already in your cyber-life, you want her there.
Well, what are you waiting for? Go over there right now and give her the business. (That’s what she said, KD. Sorry/You’re welcome.)

  1. Oh, Jeanne! I don’t even know what to say! You are too kind. I felt the same about you, you know – If we lived in the same town, well — look out town!
Thank you so much for “giving me the business” on your blog (TWSS) and to anyone else reading this post, I’ll repeat what I said on twitter about my friend:
Follow @JeanneDamoff – She’s like me, only classy!

  2. Thanks, Jeanne. Now you’ve gone and swelled Katdish’s head even MORE…
Just kidding. What a wonderful tribute. Katdish always makes me smile and she’s the very definition of what-you-see-is-what-you-get. That’s rare nowadays.
