We arrived home from our trip to Seattle a little after 11:00 PM last night. Today I’m busy with all the usual gone-for-a-week duties: mail, laundry, groceries, and blah-de-blah. Meanwhile a restless pack of partially formed perceptions are jostling about in my brain — stories demanding release. I keep promising them I will, but not now. Later.
They don’t handle suppression well. Some of them are becoming quite cheeky.
To whet your appetite (but mostly for the sake of my flaky brain), here’s my to-tell list:
Brett, the Tea Man
Dustin’s Apartment and the Daily Jaunt to Town
Veni, Vidi, Vici and the Disappearing Water Glass
Stefanie’s Painting
Choir Practice
Seattle’s Best Homeless Man
Starstruck Soil Scientists
The Slobodkins
Carlos and the Cell Phone
Rococoa and the Fremont Sunday Market (Or With a Wing and a Bong)
I may not tell them all, and I promise I won’t tell them all in one post. But I can’t take the time to tell any of them right now, even though they are as antsy as school children five minutes before the bell on the day before Christmas vacation.
Jacob should be home soon, and then we’re off to run our errands. I’ve missed him. I can see his smile in my mind and imagine the warmth of his “welcome home” hug. He makes my heart sing.
Back soon.
♥
It was good to see your name on my friends list today.
Can’t wait to hear your captivating life in stories.
love and love,
xoxo

It was good to be seen.
I would write the stories just for you, even if no one else wanted to read them.

i hope you decide to write Stefani’s painting that one sounds like a beautiful love story….or Brett the Tea Man…something trippy and amusing like Alice in Wonderland, or if neither of those, then The Slobodkins (uproariously funny on the surface but illustrating profound, underlying truths about human nature)
i’ll have to be sure to check back soon to read them 😉
nice talking to you again, Luke’s cool mom

Your predictions about the stories made me smile and even laugh a little, because you are closer to reality than you could imagine. I will definitely write those three. And probably the rest of them, too.
Thanks for the encouragement, Luke’s cool friend.
