I got rhythm. I got music. I got a dress rehearsal tonight and performances Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
I really, truly do love choreography projects with these high school choir students. The whole process energizes me–from listening to the music, creating the moves, breaking them down step by step with the performers, perfecting and tweaking, and then finally watching a stage full of talented kids have a total blast and make me look SO good. (Teen Girl Squad, anyone?)
It’s tons of fun, but it also tends to hijack the bulk of my creative energy for the duration of the show. I wake up in the middle of the night with “This Joint is Jumpin'” or “Zoot Suit Riot” playing in my head, and every step unfolding before my mind’s eye. If a couple is having trouble mastering a lift, I dream of ways to help them get it right. So–as delightful as it is–I can’t say I’m sorry this show is almost history.
I know I’ve neglected this blog and offer my sincere apologies to the “fan base.” (Flight of the Conchords this time. I’m a pop culture reference machine today.) Anyway, if you’ve missed me, today is your lucky day, because you can follow a cotton-candy linky trail to Jeanne on the Internets. Just grab your gumdrop game piece, roll the dice, and start here.
And now, for those of you who aren’t into pop culture or Jeanne stalking, but do love beauty of the most radiant nature, enjoy:
My beautiful daughter-in-law to be from our recent photo shoot. Lots more of these to come. (Yes, Luke has already seen them. He swooned.)
Have a lovely Thursday, friends.
She’s beautiful! I so wish I had a daughter-in-law to be!
I know what you mean about being hijacked by music. Sometimes I am super-charged by ideas. I really don’t want to sleep, just get on with things. Sadly, my body doesn’t work that way.
Good luck with all your projects.
What a beautiful lady.
The dress is perfect.
I absolutely love the bare feet.
This photograph radiates happiness.
