Dona nobis pacem.

“He who rules over men righteously,
Who rules in the fear of God,
Is as the light of the morning when the sun rises,
A morning without clouds,
When the tender grass springs out of the earth,
Through sunshine after rain.”

The words of a poet-shepherd-king from David’s last song, 2 Samuel 23:3b,4.

  1. No, but maybe I should.

Actually, part of verse 4 was in the Daily Light reading this morning, and it struck me as beautiful poetry, so I looked it up and read it in context.

    Lovely day to you. Mom

  2. Re: No, but maybe I should.

  3. I’ve always said, never trust a leader who doesn’t think he answers to someone higher up the line. This backs it up nicely.

Wonderful verse. Thanks for posting it.
