I have a life.

I know I do. It’s here somewhere . . . probably under the piles of junk mail and catalogs. Or maybe stuffed in the back of my closet. I’ll just have to hunt it down.

Yeah. So, Luke is gone. He’s a college guy, acting all collegy and everything. I’ve decided the best thing is for me not to worry about him. As a mom, it’s kinda hard to bite my tongue and withhold my opinions. (Yes, Luke, believe it or not, I have actually withheld some of my opinions!) He will find his way. The problem is, I want him to find his way my way. Heh. I’m working on it. Pray for me. And for him.

I read Luke’s last entry about hardly ever feeling at home anywhere this morning before we left for church. Then, our Sunday School lesson was from 1 Peter 2:4-10. It was very cool to go in with Luke’s thoughts in my mind, and then to read about how we are living stones, being built into a spiritual house (i.e., temple) for the Lord to fill with Himself. The only way we can be “home” in this world is in community with God and His people. We are a body — not alone, even when not physically together. And when we find our “place” in this home, we become “a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” etc. High calling. Amazing home. That was Sunday School. Then I went to church and we looked at Ephesians 1:15-23, which is just so overwhelmingly rich I almost felt I would burst.

“For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you, and your love for all the saints, do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in the one to come. And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fulness of Him who fills all in all.”

Oh man. Well, that is just awesome. I’ve read it . . . I’ve even prayed it . . . many times, but today I felt it enter my soul and fill me up and spill out in adoration of the One who works all things together for good.

So. I pray this today for Luke. I pray it for you . . . whoever you are reading these words. I pray we find ourselves as living stones building up that mystical body, living in community with the lovers of our adorable Lord.

Hey! I do have a life. Found it. Just wasn’t looking in the right place. It’s not about me. It’s much, much bigger than that.

A most blessed Sunday to all of you. ♥ EZ
