I’m not as clueless as I sound. Am I?

Okay, well, I’m going to try to do this livejournal thing . . . don’t know exactly how things will turn out, but Luke and ragamuffen have already encouraged me by commenting on my first non-attempt at a post. It was truly pathetic. Just wanted something to work with, ya know, so I could pick colors and what-have-you. And even then, Luke was helping me navigate the system. So sad. It’s like the new cell phone I got recently. I was trying to set up the voice mail, and I kept getting the same message over and over, and then the recording would say, “I’m sorry. You seem to be having trouble. Please try again later. Good-bye.” So, actually, in my attempts to get it set up, I left myself about six messages, because it kept going to my voice mail, but wouldn’t let me retrieve them. I finally talked to a person at cingular, who helped me, but then he and I were both listening to all the messages I left myself, which eventually became, “I DON’T WANT TO LEAVE A MESSAGE! I WANT TO HEAR THE MESSAGES!!!” I was cracking up as I listened to it, and of course he could hear me laughing at my own incompetence. The technician guy wasn’t saying much. Poor thing. They need to add another recorded message in their system: “Please hand your phone to someone between the ages of three and twenty, and your voice mail will no doubt be set up in a matter of seconds.” Unfortunately, Luke wasn’t home, but it got set up, and I can now retrieve messages. Exciting news. Yes, I’m sure to attract all kinds of livejournal readers with this sort of intrigue.

Okay. New topic. Luke graduated Friday. The first family members arrived last Tuesday night. The last of them are leaving tomorrow. Almost a week of non-stop familly fun! Woo hoo. I hope you can hear the joy in the tone of my voice, er, fingers. Nevermind. So, we’ve had people sleeping everywhere. There were twenty here at one point. It dwindled to thirteen, and three of those just left. We’re down to ten. (Yes, I can still subtract in my weary condition.) Oh, and I do love them all, and I’m glad they came, and hope they will all come back soon. (Hi to any of you family members who may read this!)

Today a bunch of them went on an outing. Caddo Lake. Jefferson. The “High Point” of Marion County. George’s brother from Mobile, Alabama, is bagging county high points. They did the one in Harrison County Saturday. It’s the administration bldg at ETBU. That was a tough one. Marion County was just as thrilling, no doubt. They had to overcome blackberry vines I think. My nephew turned over a rock and they found a millipede. Gosh. I’m sorry I missed out on that one. Oh, yeah . . . I opted out on both adventures. Hard to believe I know, but a girl can’t be expected to start a livejournal AND bag the Marion County high point all in one day. We have our limits.

Well, that’s enough for one day. More than enough. Next time maybe I’ll tell the story of Caveman and the drums. It would have been fiine if he hadn’t been naked.

Until then . . . blessings!

  4. Gomez, get those out of his mouth…

Eye won’t tell. 😉 Still a lovely eye. I like to think I have an eye for detail, so eye imagine the eye … um … apple doesn’t fall very far from the tree.

    Eye’ll see ya round.

  5. I can’t believe (but I’m glad) you don’t remember!

Noooo… the Caveman thing happened when Amy was living here. I’ll tell that story in my journal b/c… well, it’s one of those truth-is-way-way-stranger-than-fiction things.

  6. Waiting for my photo shoot . . .

Glad you like the eyeball! 😀 If I had a stash of I’ve-been-married-for-fourteen-years-but-still-look-like-a-sixteen-year-old-supermodel pics of myself, I’d post them liberally. Maybe I’ll get brave and put my real self out there for scrutiny before long. Gotta hire someone with a good fuzzy lens . . .

Oh honey! I swear I look my age…which is 32. Well, I can get away with 26-28ish but…I’m not too lovely…and certainly not model like.

I’m so glad you are doing the journal thing!
